Devils Rejects.(Ho1C2)

Hello,Well i just Recieved Word on the House of 1000 Corpses 2,Named The Devils Rejects,i was directed to the Review that i thought id post up for you all to see..Look below for the date of the Release abnd what it has to say,.I cant wait to see it,Otis Otis Otis!

Release Date: October, 2004 (wide)

Release Date Note: (12/9/03) When Lions Gate first announced plans for this project, they were aiming for an April, 2004 release, but with the film not making its planned October, 2003 filming start date (as reported at Bloody-Disgusting.com), that target no longer seems likely. (1/8/04) The release has just been pushed back a little bit, to the summer of 2004. (1/13/04) Or rather... October, 2004.

Title Note: (8/3/03) The final title of this movie will not be 'House of 1000 Corpses 2' as there will be another main title for this sequel, with 'House of 1000 Corpses 2' just used as the subtitle. (1/8/04) The title of this sequel might be 'House of 2000 Corpses.' (3/26/04) The official title of this sequel drops all references to the first movie entirely, and is just 'The Devil's Rejects' (source: Creature Corner).

Distributor: Lions Gate Films

Cast: Bill Moseley (Otis Driftwood), Sid Haig (Captain Spaulding), Sheri Moon (Baby Firefly), Karen Black (Mother Firefly); other cast not announced yet.

Cast Notes: (8/3/03) It's possible other cast members from the movie will return. In some cases, it depends upon whether or not the characters survived, though considering the nature of this film, it wouldn't be impossible for some of the dead characters to come back as well (probably as cameos and/or props). Dennis Fimple, who played Grampa Hugo, will not be returning as he died in August, 2002 at the age of 61.

Director: Rob Zombie (House of 1,000 Corpses)

Screenwriter: Rob Zombie (House of 1,000 Corpses)

Based Upon: (8/3/03) This is the sequel to the horror film, House of 1000 Corpses, which was finally released in April, 2003 by Lions Gate Films after being kept on a shelf for quite some time by Universal Pictures, the film's original distributor. In sharp contrast, Lions Gate is looking to produce and release this movie within a year of the first film's release. The original film started with a limited release, and ended up making $12.5 million in the U.S. Lions Gate is going to try a wide release right away this time, referring to the first film's $7,700+ per-screen-average for its first week, which if duplicated with a wide release of say, 2,500 theaters, could result in a weekend gross in the $20 million range. Lions Gate is hoping this second film will be successful enough for the "House of 1,000 Corpses" series to keep going with further sequels.

Premise: The unthinkable horror and chaos continues a few weeks after the events depicted in House of 1000 Corpses, as this film's focus shifts to a conflict between the various evil family members of the first movie and a new set of murderous loonies, in a blood-soaked road movie that leaves that 'House' with all its corpses. With two gangs of bloodthirsty bodily mutilation enthusiasts set loose at each other's necks, who will emerge victorious? The conflict starts when the 'house of 1000 corpses' is raided by a S.W.A.T. team, where the events of the first film are discovered in all of their shocking horror... As the maniacs the media dubs "The Devil's Rejects" flee the scene of the many, many crimes as their house burns down, they take off on a bloody road trip...

Filming: Production is scheduled to start sometime in April, 2004.

Filming Notes: (8/3/03) Production is scheduled to start in the early fall of 2003 (September, perhaps?). The production (and most importantly, postproduction) will have to move at a brisk pace to make the April, 2004 target release date. (12/9/03) Well, the fall is almost over, and there's no word now about when filming of this movie might actually start. (1/8/04) Filming is now scheduled to start soon; possibly in late January or in February, 2004. (1/13/04) Filming is now scheduled to start in April, 2004.

Genre: Eye Candy, Horror, Sequel

Read the First Film's Script: Screenplays for You (this is obviously an early draft as it varies from the released film in several ways, but it's quite interesting if you want to see what the first movie *could* have been like)

Fan Convention Report: JoBlo.com (from the Comic Con last month in San Diego; I was at the panel too, but Berge does a great job of recapping what was revealed, so I'll just point you his way for all that)
